The FIFA World Cup 2026 officially began on 11 June 2026. It is jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and United States, making it the first FIFA World Cup hosted by three countries. It is also the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams, expanding from the previous format of 32 teams.
